Fifteen Years since 9/11

15 years have passed since the brutal attack on 9/11 and we still need to remember not only the victims but the vices of those who plotted the attacks.

Fundamentalism, the belief that one religion is superior to all others and which condones violent & murderous behavior, is something that we must never ignore. ‘Racism is man’s gravest threat to man – the maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason” Rabbi Heschel.

In the Jewish system of law, we have a principle that says: “Dina de Malchuta Dina” the law of the country is the law!

From this week’s Torah portion we understand that Human Rights are Civil Rights, and our Judges have the obligation to protect us and to secure our dignity!

Rights are noble things, essential to human dignity.
